  1. I was on it six months then needed a total hysterectomy this past summer 😦 so i know the bad boy feeling. I am now on femera another fun drug with lots of hot flashes but just like you i am grateful that it is there! Its a love/hate relationship

  2. dear scorchy,

so glad the TFK is working; and so glad you have been able to make peace with it. the niggling, constant doubt thing is a hard row to hoe and it’s good that you don’t have to be be plagued with that, not saying it’s easy, but keeping on buddy-meet-me-for-a drinkee poo status may win you reprieves from the annoyance factor now and in the future. meanwhile, keep those buggers shrinking!

    love, XO,

    karen, TC

I love the letter! I’m stage 3 grade 3 and I’m thinking of stopping Tamoxifen. I’ve had such crap SE from everything and now this. I have gained weight and I can’t walk without pain. My stomach looks 6 months pregnant and I keep peeing my pants. I have friends who are stage 4 so I know what’s what. The little time I have left I want on my terms and not F***king cancer.

I agree with you about the love/hate relationship with tamoxifen, but so well written Scorchy. I had to realize how lucky I was with tamoxifen when my best friend had MBC and she was triple negative. Before I understood about pathology and breast cancer I wished I had the pathology that I didn’t have to take tamoxifen. Boy did I learn about pathology and it’s relation to treatment. It’s so unfair to those who are triple negative and have so few options to shrink tumors with. I am so happy for you that your tests are showing such great results. Hugs to you!

  6. Go go Tamoxifen! And Scorchy, didn’t you read the label where it says if it’s “tingling” it’s working?

  7. Pretty fair take on Tamoxifen, I reckon. Tolerate/annoy relationship . . . and then they come out saying 10 years is better than 5 . . . apparently it’s the relative that never leaves the house! (But also washes your dishes and does the laundry) ~Catherine

  8. Great results! I have been told I will be on it for 10 years instead of the original 5. 10? They expect me to be here in 10 years? I’d sign on for 20 if they’d let me 😉 Side effects are a pita, but not as bad as the alternative. Here’s to more shrinkage!

  9. I am so happy it’s helping you!

  10. I too have a love-hate relationship with Tamoxifen. While it promises to deter recurrence, it’s a total bitch to live with. Buy the bitch a drink for me while you’re at it.

I hated Tamoxifen and never wanted to take it but I did. I’m glad to hear it is working well for you!
